Now possible to watch, buy and sell NFT on TV
SEOUL, South Korea: Following Samsung, LG has now announced the ability to display, buy and sell Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT) on its new Smart TVs.
Non-fungible tokens are digital assets that include an important digital photo, historical video or the world’s first text message (SMS) as an NFT. But now thanks to Web 3 new creations and images are being sold as NFTs.
Currently, only US users can avail it first. LG has also created a marketplace for it called ‘LG Art Lab’ which will be the first to buy and sell high-quality digital photos.
NFT can also be viewed by downloading to the phone on webOS 5.0 currently associated with LGTV. Interestingly, LG also allows you to create NFT-based digital photos.
The platform is named LGNFT Drops. The first to be unveiled on September 22 is what appear to be metallic images. Their creation includes the efforts of sculptor Barry X Ball.
To buy an NFT from the TV, scan the QR code displayed on the screen and it will open in the Valpto app where you can pay and own it. For this you will need USD Coin.
LG has also said that the entire platform is built on Hedera, a trusted and widely used decentralized platform.
